One-Day Childbirth Preparation
Our One-Day Childbirth Preparation class covers the anatomy and physiology of labor and birth, natural pain coping strategies, unexpected outcomes, and birth technology. Immediate postpartum issues and newborn care will also be briefly discussed.
Classes incorporate mindfulness exercises, focused breathing, relaxation techniques, movement for labor, and partner support skills. The format combines lecture, discussion, hands-on demonstration, and student participation. Birth videos will be shown.
Please wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows for easy movement. There will be a short break for lunch. You may bring a packed lunch, or head to one of the many local eateries nearby. We have a microwave and refrigerator available for your convenience.
