Becoming Grand is open to everyone, both LWC and non-LWC clients. Please feel free to spread the word!
Grandparents are an incomparable source of support, encouragement, and wisdom for expectant parents, but many grandparents discover that the latest and best practices in maternal and newborn care have changed since their days of baby rearing. Join LWC nurse and educator Allison St. John, and her mom and experienced grandmother, Danielle Schoeninger, as they discuss what has changed in mother and infant care. They’ll also share the latest updates on products and trends, advice on helping new parents cope, and tips to make grandparent visits, babysitting, and even sleepovers go more smoothly. Sometimes it’s hard for grandparents to accept that there’s a different way of doing things, but understanding the benefits of the latest care practices makes them that much more supportive and savvy. You’re going to be such an important person in your grandchild’s life, let Allison and Danielle help you fully prepare for the journey!
“Having delivered twice at The Birth Center at LWC, I couldn’t be happier with my experiences. I felt so cared for and safe there. Welcoming, comforting, trustworthy—the combination of the homey feel I wanted with professional, experienced midwives and nurses let me relax, knowing I was in good hands. The midwives, always there when we needed them, also seemed to know just when to give us space. When pushing became difficult during my second birth, the midwife quickly assessed the situation and helped me get things back on track. I can’t imagine birthing anywhere else.”
