Childbirth Refresher

A one-session class for birthers and their partner or support person who have already experienced childbirth, but would like a chance to refresh their memory. Review of the process of labor and recognizing when it starts will be covered, as well as an overview of natural pain-coping techniques, the role of nurses and midwives, TBC policies, hospital transfer if necessary, and your postpartum stay. Sibling adjustment will also be discussed. In addition to review, this class provides an opportunity to connect with other Birth Center parents, provide and receive encouragement and inspiration, ask questions, solicit advice, and offer suggestions.

$60 per couple

At this time, our Childbirth Refresher class is only offered to LWC clients.

“Having delivered twice at The Birth Center at LWC, I couldn’t be happier with my experiences. I felt so cared for and safe there. Welcoming, comforting, trustworthy—the combination of the homey feel I wanted with professional, experienced midwives and nurses let me relax, knowing I was in good hands. The midwives, always there when we needed them, also seemed to know just when to give us space. When pushing became difficult during my second birth, the midwife quickly assessed the situation and helped me get things back on track. I can’t imagine birthing anywhere else.”
