First Days at Home

This one-session class, required for first-time parents, and highly recommended to experienced parents that are new to birth center care, is designed to provide specific education regarding the early care of yourself and your newborn from the time you leave The Birth Center until your Home Visit. We will review some newborn care, normal newborn behavior, and taking mom’s and baby’s vital signs in the early postpartum period. Please remember to bring your New Beginnings book (found in your binder) to your First Days at Home class.

Included in Preparation for Childbirth Class series package or $80 per couple if taken as a separate class.

At this time, our First Days at Home class is only offered to LWC clients.

“Having delivered twice at The Birth Center at LWC, I couldn’t be happier with my experiences. I felt so cared for and safe there. Welcoming, comforting, trustworthy—the combination of the homey feel I wanted with professional, experienced midwives and nurses let me relax, knowing I was in good hands. The midwives, always there when we needed them, also seemed to know just when to give us space. When pushing became difficult during my second birth, the midwife quickly assessed the situation and helped me get things back on track. I can’t imagine birthing anywhere else.”
