Focus on Breastfeeding

This one-session class (offered 2-3 times every month) for expectant parents provides detailed information about breastfeeding, including benefits to mother and baby, anatomy and physiology of the breast, composition of breastmilk, positioning and latch, pumping and storing milk, common setbacks, and more! It is designed for both breastfeeder and partner or support person.

Our Focus on Breastfeeding class is open to the public! You don’t have to be an LWC client to take advantage of our comprehensive lactation services, including our Focus on Breastfeeding class. Please help us spread the word!

Ideally, this class should be taken around the 36th week of pregnancy (much easier to remember all the information that way!).

LWC clients: This class is a required class for first-time parents.

$60 per couple

“Having delivered twice at The Birth Center at LWC, I couldn’t be happier with my experiences. I felt so cared for and safe there. Welcoming, comforting, trustworthy—the combination of the homey feel I wanted with professional, experienced midwives and nurses let me relax, knowing I was in good hands. The midwives, always there when we needed them, also seemed to know just when to give us space. When pushing became difficult during my second birth, the midwife quickly assessed the situation and helped me get things back on track. I can’t imagine birthing anywhere else.”
