Midwife

Kim Martino, CNM

Kim has been with Lifecycle since 2019. She moved to Philadelphia in 2013 to attend midwifery school. After finishing the nursing portion of her program, she discovered that bedside nursing is very rewarding. She worked as a Neonatal Intensive Care nurse for about four years while completing midwifery school (a portion of which included working as a student midwife here at Lifecycle). Kim loves that her colleagues at Lifecycle are all “committed to caring deeply for our clients.”

Kim was inspired to become a midwife after having her own health care experiences where she didn’t feel heard. She now says her best days are when the people she’s cared for tell her that they felt heard, cared for, and respected.

“I love supporting people through both tough and joyful seasons of life. As a midwife, I get to watch people grow and birth their babies and to help people understand their bodies better.”

Outside of work, Kim and her partner have been busy learning how to use all varieties of power tools and rehabbing their row home (mostly on their own). She also enjoys “poking around” her tiny front garden, cooking up something from scratch, or being out in nature.
