Lifecycle WomanCare is committed to advancing our model of relationship-based care for all women and families—not just our clients—and is an advocate for access to the highest standard of healthcare for all women.
LWC works closely with other women’s health organizations and coalitions at both the state and federal level to advocate for the best public policy for women’s healthcare. We advocate for more holistic and active partnership in healthcare, improved healthcare education for women and families, and a fuller understanding of the healthcare options and choices women and families have.
Training and Support
We provide trainings at the national conference of the American Association of Birth Centers on a range of topics, including Quality Control, Emergency Preparedness, and Effective Financial Operations. We also provide support and information to other midwives and birth centers in order to try to increase access to midwifery and birth center care in all regions of the state and country.
We advocate for a wide range of policy improvements. Among our areas of focus are enacting effective midwifery and nursing regulations to increase access to and quality of care, ensuring that paid family and medical leave is an option for working parents, eliminating pregnancy discrimination, expanding and improving policies regarding lactation in the workplace and public accommodations for breastfeeding mothers, and increasing reproductive and contraceptive choices.
