Lifecycle WomanCare provides a wide range of lactation services to breastfeeding mothers, including education, support, individual consultation, and breastfeeding support groups that are open to the public. LWC’s lactation support begins with the first prenatal appointment and continues throughout pregnancy and post-partum care.
We take great pride in helping mothers have success in breastfeeding, especially given its well-established medical benefits. Breast milk contains antibodies that help babies fight off viruses and bacteria, and breastfed babies have been shown to have lower risk of asthma or allergies as well as fewer ear infections, respiratory illnesses, and bouts of diarrhea. They also have fewer hospitalizations and trips to the doctor. [1] Midwife-led birth center births result in a significantly higher rate of breastfeeding success, from initiation to months later.[2] More than 90% of LWC mothers are still breastfeeding exclusively at six weeks, compared to a national average of 48%.[3]
