Current COVID-19 Policy

Clients may have one adult accompany them to all in-person visits. In addition, clients are encouraged to bring their baby to their six-week postpartum appointment, as well as to any lactation consultations. Clients may also bring their older child(ren) to their prenatal and/or gynecological appointments. Children must remain with their parent(s) at all times.

Laboring clients may have two adult support people with them during their labor and birth at both The Birth Center and Bryn Mawr Hospital.

Clients who have given birth at The Birth Center may have two additional adults stop by for a visit no sooner than two hours after the baby is born. Siblings of the baby may also attend the visit. Please check with Bryn Mawr Hospital for updates on their postpartum COVID-19 visitation policy: https://www.mainlinehealth.org/conditions-and-treatments/conditions/covid-19/covid-19-and-pregnancy

Masks are required for everyone who enters the building who is over two years old, with the exception of laboring clients. They must be worn properly (covering the nose, mouth, and chin) and must be one of the following types:

  • Surgical mask
  • Multiple-layered cloth mask
  • KN95
  • N95
