LWC’s 2017 Big Latch On Events – Friday, August 4th and Saturday, August 5th

To celebrate the 2017 World Breastfeeding Month, LWC hosted two Big Latch On events this year – one on the Main Line and one in West Philly!

This was our third year hosting a Big Latch On (BLO) site, and our FIRST year hosting two sites – giving more options for our clients and friends to participate.

Both events were lovely gatherings – we had over 40 nursing mothers/parents in attendance between our site at the Freedom Playground in Haverford, and in Clark Park in West Philadelphia.  Thank you to everyone who came out to support this global initiative to normalize breastfeeding!

What is the Global Big Latch On, you ask?

BLO events take place at registered locations around the world on the Friday and Saturday of World Breastfeeding Week, generally the first week of the month of August. At these sites breastfeeding parents gather together to breastfeed and offer peer support to each other in effort to help normalize breastfeeding. The overall initiative aims to strengthen national and global support for breastfeeding and to improve the health of children and women around the world.
